Subject: What an amazing week!!

I know i say this a lot but this week was amazing!! It felt good to finally get back to chivay and be "home" on monday(: Tuesday we had english class which is always fun, we played a lot of games this week, and then had a surprise birthday party for Elder Maylett who turned 21. It actually turned out to be one of the biggest ward parties weve had! There was 13 investigators and 6 members and then the 6 of us missionaries. I think were going to have birthday parties more often, they love em here! Wednesday and Thursday me and my companion were both super sick and didnt leave the room much, we think it was something we ate because the elders were all sick too and tuesday we all ate lunch at the same place. But being in the room so much gave us time to read and think a lot and the desire to get out and work was just killin us. So finally friday and saturday we got out there and worked our butts off. and it was worth it! we got some new investigators and also got some very good news from brenda (our 14 year old investigator)!! We walked in and as soon as we sat down she told us that she had been thinking a lot and that she wants to get baptized and knows that its going to change her life... we were in shock but so happy!! it had been so long since someone had told me that, it was like music to my ears (: She told us that she wanted to go to church and then we would talk more sunday night. Saturday we also cleaned the church and had our weekly movie night with all the kids. and the relief society had another activity! the church was hoppin! i got into one of those cleaning moods and man that church got a good cleaning and organizing. As it should be since its the house of the Lord (: Sunday we found out that Elder Tenorio(the branch president) was getting transfered.. and also Elder Maylett. they both gave talks and everyone was crying. I think its hard for the members because they get so attatched to the elders here being their leaders and president. Elder Hulett is going to be branch president now and were excited for that! I had my YW class and it was a good one, we talked about prayer and read bednars talk called "pray always" one of the challenges is to say a prayer and only thank god for all the blessings you have.. to not ask for anything. So we all agreed to do it that night and  It was actually one of the coolest prayers ive had in a while..  i reccomend we all do that once a week to remember how blessed each one of us is in our lives and to be reminded of all the things we have to be thankfull for. Sunday night we had an amazing lesson with Brenda and her Brother Junior (who´s 8). First Brenda told us about how she pretty much read the whole first part of the Book of mormom.. introduction, and the testimonies and that she knows that the book of mormon is true and that Joseph smith really saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that this is the true church! She told us that when she was going to the catholic church that she never felt the way she does when shes with us or when shes at church.. so cool to hear someone who has felt that differnece!  We read Alma 32 with her and she is just so amazing. she has so much desire to change her life and to follow Gods will for her. i just love her. Then we talked to her little brother, who by the way is a little on the trouble maker side, and taught him about baptism and asked him if he wanted to be baptized... he sat there with his head down for a while and then  my companion asked if he was sleeping.. he told us that he was meditating.. that he knows he doesnt listen to his parents and hes not being a very good son.. and that he wants to change.. It was the sweetest most sincere thing ever! They both have been coming to church the past couple weeks and its cool because junior is in the primary with hna stone and brenda in young womans with me so we get to be there teachers all week, even on sundays (: were really excited to be a part of their change and growth and to help them grow closer to their heavenly father, and were hoping they will be examples for their parente! i know how much we love them and cant imagine the love their father in heaven has for them. She reminds me a lot of the change that i made in my life and i love sharing my testimony about that... anyone can and has the strength to change.. if you dont believe that than you are denying the atonement of Christ.. He made it possible to be forgiven of our past mistakes and to have the power to change and be better than we were... we are not set in stone.. especially not our weeknesses, but if we turn to him he will help us to know our weekeneses and be able to change them.

Ether 12:27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

I have felt this, especially as a missionary. Being a missionary isnt easy but it is the best and most amazing thing i have ever done. I know that i am weak but with the Savior as the third member of our companionship i can overcome them and be the instrament in his hands that he needs me to be. I know that there are more people here that are ready to change their lives and grow closer to our Heavenly Father we just have to keep working and find them (: Keep the little branch of chivay in your prayers(:

I love you all so much!! Thank you for your prayers, love and support!

Hermana Weller! (:

  1. Good morning, how are you?

My name is Emilio, I am a Spanish boy and I live in a town near to Madrid. I am a very interested person in knowing things so different as the culture, the way of life of the inhabitants of our planet, the fauna, the flora, and the landscapes of all the countries of the world etc. in summary, I am a person that enjoys traveling, learning and respecting people's diversity from all over the world.

I would love to travel and meet in person all the aspects above mentioned, but unfortunately as this is very expensive and my purchasing power is quite small, so I devised a way to travel with the imagination in every corner of our planet. A few years ago I started a collection of used stamps because through them, you can see pictures about fauna, flora, monuments, landscapes etc. from all the countries. As every day is more and more difficult to get stamps, some years ago I started a new collection in order to get traditional letters addressed to me in which my goal was to get at least 1 letter from each country in the world. This modest goal is feasible to reach in the most part of countries, but unfortunately, it is impossible to achieve in other various territories for several reasons, either because they are very small countries with very few population, either because they are countries at war, either because they are countries with extreme poverty or because for whatever reason the postal system is not functioning properly.

For all this, I would ask you one small favor:
Would you be so kind as to send me a letter by traditional mail from Peru? I understand perfectly that you think that your blog is not the appropriate place to ask this, and even, is very probably that you ignore my letter, but I would call your attention to the difficulty involved in getting a letter from that country, and also I don’t know anyone neither where to write in Peru in order to increase my collection. a letter for me is like a little souvenir, like if I have had visited that territory with my imagination and at same time, the arrival of the letters from a country is a sign of peace and normality and an original way to promote a country in the world. My postal address is the following one:

    Emilio Fernandez Esteban
Avenida Juan de la Cierva, 44
    28902 Getafe (Madrid)
    Spain

If you wish, you can visit my blog www.cartasenmibuzon.blogspot.com where you can see the pictures of all the letters that I have received from whole World.

Finally, I would like to thank the attention given to this letter, and whether you can help me or not, I send my best wishes for peace, health and happiness for you, your family and all your dear beings.

    Yours Sincerely

    Emilio Fernandez
